REAL MADRID SET TO CHALLENGE RECORD

In Spain’s LaLiga, Real Madrid is set to equal Barcelona’s unbeaten record in the league if they do not lose in today’s El Clasico match.

The first El Clasico of the LaLiga season will see Real Madrid face Barcelona this evening. The match will take place at Santiago Bernabeu and is scheduled to kick off at 22:00 local time. Real Madrid is aiming for a record in this encounter.

If Real Madrid avoids defeat against Barcelona today, they will extend their unbeaten streak in LaLiga to 43 matches, equaling Barcelona’s record. Carlo Ancelotti’s team has not suffered a LaLiga loss since the derby against Atletico Madrid last season.

Following that derby, Real Madrid has played a total of 42 matches in LaLiga during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, achieving 31 victories and 11 draws.

RECORD BELONGS TO BARCELONA

The longest unbeaten streak in LaLiga history belongs to Barcelona. Under Ernesto Valverde’s management, they went 43 matches without a loss between 2017 and 2018.

This season, Barcelona has recorded 9 wins and 1 loss in 10 matches, placing them at the top of the table with 27 points. Reigning champions Real Madrid are continuing their unbeaten run with 7 wins and 3 draws in 10 matches, currently sitting in second place with 24 points, just behind Barcelona.
