Red Bull abandons Las Vegas livery scheme
Red Bull will not use a special livery at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, citing the car’s increased weight.
Red Bull held a demonstration run in Galway, Ireland, ahead of race week in Las Vegas, where David Coulthard and Patrick Friesacher performed in front of thousands of fans in an ex-Red Bull Formula 1 car.
The RB7, the 2012 model year car that Sebastian Vettel used to win his third world championship, was used in the demonstration. The livery featured a lighter blue colour scheme than the current colour expected to be used at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Red Bull has introduced special livery schemes for races in the United States over the years. In 2023, the livery scheme for three races in the United States was created by fans.
Red Bull had also planned to use a special livery for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, but according to GP Blog, they decided to stick with their traditional livery over the weekend because the paint job on the RB20 would add extra weight. So the livery that was introduced during the Irish demonstration run has been shelved.
