Rob McElhenney Jokes About ‘New Wrexham Signing’ After Fan Wins $100,000

Hollywood actor and co-owner of Wrexham, Rob McElhenney, made a lighthearted reference to the team’s newest addition after witnessing a fan win $100,000 by making a 35-yard field goal.

McElhenney took a vacation from his Wrexham responsibilities to go to the ESPN College Gameday event in the United States during the international football break. A viewer by the name of Kyle had the opportunity to kick a field goal as part of the show’s “Pat McAfee Kicking Contest” and win a sizable cash reward.

Kyle’s Moment of Truth

After missing his original try to win $80,000, Kyle was given another chance to win $100,000, an even greater prize. Under duress, Kyle made the 35-yard field goal to the pleasure of McElhenney, who made a jesting remark about the need to “look into a work visa” for the gifted kicker.
