Roberto Mancini Set to Receive Jaw-Dropping Compensation from Saudi Arabia

Experienced coach Roberto Mancini, who was dismissed from the Saudi Arabian National Team, is preparing to receive a record compensation package.

Mancini, who previously managed Galatasaray and won the Premier League title with Manchester City, was relieved of his duties as head coach of the Saudi Arabian National Team, a position he took on at the start of last season. Following this development, it has been reported that Mancini, who had a four-year contract worth €21 million annually, will receive an unprecedented compensation amount.

According to a report by Mirror, Saudi Arabian officials will pay the 59-year-old coach a total of €78 million, which includes 14 months’ salary and severance pay.

HIGHEST AMOUNT EVER RECEIVED IN A SINGLE PAYMENT

If the Italian coach receives €78 million from his termination with the Saudi Arabian National Team, he will pocket the highest compensation amount ever received in a single payment.

ANOTHER CLAIM: HE WILL RECEIVE €20 MILLION

According to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the agreement between the Saudi Football Federation and Mancini states that the Italian coach earned an annual salary of €30 million. Having received part of his salary during the 14-month period, Mancini will reportedly only receive €20 million in compensation due to this package.

SAUDI ARABIA’S PERFORMANCE WAS NOT GOOD

Roberto Mancini managed the Saudi Arabian National Team for 18 matches, securing only 8 victories, falling short of the expected performance. Under his leadership, the Saudi team was eliminated from the Asian Cup and finished third behind Japan and Australia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

It was reported that the federation dismissed Mancini to avoid risking their chances of finishing second in the group.

NEW COACH COMING SOON

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced Mancini’s departure, emphasizing that a new head coach will be announced shortly.

DID NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION FROM GALATASARAY

After managing Manchester City for many years, the Italian coach took over Galatasaray in the 2013/14 season. While at the helm of the yellow-reds, Mancini left stating, “I didn’t deserve it,” and he declined a compensation package of €12.5 million, endearing himself to the Galatasaray fans.

In his 46 matches with Galatasaray, Mancini achieved an average of 1.89 points per game and led the team to win the Ziraat Turkey Cup.
