Ruben Amorim Eyes Alvaro Carreras as Potential First Signing for Manchester United

As Liverpool’s interest in the Benfica left-back grows, Manchester United may utilize their £16 million buy-back clause to bring Alvaro Carreras back to Old Trafford. The 21-year-old may now rejoin United under new boss Ruben Amorim after spending £7.5 million to join Benfica this summer.

According to reports, Liverpool is prepared to pay Carreras’ €50 million release clause, which is significantly more than United’s buyback option. Liverpool’s plans have been characterized as “real,” and Amorim seems eager to move quickly to sign the gifted left-back for a significantly reduced price.

The Increasing Demand and Unrealized Potential of Carreras

Before moving to Benfica, Carreras never played a prominent role for United, although his reputation has grown considerably. Amorim’s tactical approach and his style of play complement each other well, therefore he fits right in with the Portuguese manager’s system.

United is under increasing pressure to exercise their option as Liverpool’s alleged interest grows. Carreras’ next move is expected to cause intense competition amongst the Premier League’s biggest clubs, regardless of whether he joins Amorim as his first acquisition or goes to Anfield.
