Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that, despite the club’s massive reputation, they are not yet a “massive team” and highlighted the areas needing improvement to boost their performances.

Since taking charge at Old Trafford, Amorim has guided the Red Devils to 13th place in the Premier League, with a notable 4-0 victory over Everton and a draw against Ipswich Town. However, their 2-0 loss to Arsenal revealed that there is still work to be done.

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Nottingham Forest, Amorim explained the key areas where United need to improve. “We are a massive club but not a massive team yet,” he told reporters in his pre-match press conference. “It’s important to recognize this, and we need to believe more in ourselves. We controlled parts of the game against Arsenal, especially in the first half, but we need to be more dominant and create more danger in the final third.”

Amorim emphasized the importance of consistency and confidence, adding, “Against Arsenal, we controlled the game for long periods but failed to pose a real threat in their defensive third. It’s a learning process, and we must continue to improve in training to be more efficient in games.”

Despite the loss to Arsenal, Amorim remains optimistic, stating that his players can improve through better training and consistency. “They’re professional athletes, and while they may not be able to run faster, they can improve their stamina through better training.”

United will look to bounce back against Forest, who currently sit seventh in the Premier League standings. Amorim will be hoping for a performance that sees his side create more attacking opportunities while tightening their defense.
