Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United Move Faces Potential Delay
Due to contractual obligations, the start date of the Portuguese manager is uncertain.
A contractual notice period at Sporting CP that apparently requires “a number of weeks” before he can formally leave could delay Ruben Amorim’s planned move to Manchester United. The Daily Mail claims that after Erik ten Hag was fired, United’s original goal was to get Amorim in place prior to their next Premier League match against Chelsea.
Potential Arrival Schedule for Amorim
Sporting stated that United intends to fulfill the 39-year-old’s release clause; however, the manager might not be available until their November 24 matchup with Ipswich Town. Due to this delay, temporary manager Ruud van Nistelrooy may be in charge of four games: the much awaited meeting against Chelsea, a Europa League match against PAOK, and Premier League and EFL Cup matches against Leicester.
