Germany’s sporting director, Rudi Völler, stated that if Jurgen Klopp expresses interest in managing the German national team, he would secure the position.
Völler remarked that if Klopp wanted to take over the German national team, “no one could stop him.” Currently, Julian Nagelsmann is the head coach and has succeeded in creating a positive atmosphere after a challenging period.
Although there are no signs that Nagelsmann will leave the position, his young age means a return to club football is not ruled out by the German Football Association.
Former Liverpool manager Klopp has long been seen as an ideal candidate for the national team. Völler added that if the position becomes available and Klopp is interested, “no one would be able to stand in his way.”
Praises for Klopp
Speaking on ZDF’s Sportstudio, Völler said, “There’s no need to hide the fact that Jurgen Klopp has had an incredible career. If Julian at some point wants to take over a top club in Germany or Europe, no one can stop Jurgen from taking the national team job, that’s for sure.”
Klopp, after his long tenure at Liverpool, expressed the need for a break and recently declined an offer to coach the United States national team.
