Şenol Güneş: “We Will Become a Team That Doesn’t Give Away Chances”

Trabzonspor played to a 0-0 draw against Gaziantep FK in the 6th week of the Süper Lig, marking their fifth consecutive draw in the league this season. After the match, Trabzonspor’s head coach Şenol Güneş shared his thoughts with beIN SPORTS.

Şenol Güneş’s Post-Match Comments

“It was different in the Beşiktaş match. The first 10 minutes were different. They tried to stay strong physically. We had hopes, but in the second game, we are neither technically nor physically good. In this match, the first half was a waste. When we draw, it affects morale and confidence. We played three matches in a week. Clearly, we need to improve physically.”

“In this match, we tried to increase the tempo, but it still wasn’t enough. I don’t want to spend my days in regret after the game is over. There are injuries, and some players are not fully ready. We have no game coordination. We are going through a period of weakness in ball usage. Physically, tactically, and technically, it’s been a tough phase for us. But we will start working from tomorrow. We have a match against Konya on Sunday, and we will think about how to win that.”

Güneş also spoke about the team’s potential, stating, “We will become a team that doesn’t give away chances. If you give the ball to the opponent and don’t press, you will concede chances. This team is capable of playing much better. We will change the starting 11. There will be no surrendering, no sadness, and no excuses. We are continuing with bad results, but we will recover.”
