Sinan Kaloglu: “We Have Taken on a Difficult Task Here”

Sinan Kaloglu, the head coach of Bellona Kayserispor, expressed his belief that they will end the poor run of form and finish the league in a good position.

In a statement, Kaloglu mentioned that after leaving his position at Genclerbirligi he attended some training sessions for personal development. He recounted how President Ali Camli invited him to Kayseri after the departure of former coach Burak Yilmaz. “I was already closely following Kayserispor. I had some plans regarding the club. When I arrived, I had the opportunity to present this to the community. After that presentation, we signed a contract. I wish success to both parties,” he said.

Kaloglu emphasized that he has joined a big club and that his first goal is not to disappoint the trust placed in him by the management, fans, and prominent figures in the city.

“We Have Taken on a Difficult Role Again”

Kaloglu expressed confidence in his ability to succeed with the team, saying, “I am one of the new generation coaches, but this is not my first job. I previously worked as a coach educator at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). I joined Altay in the last weeks of their season in the Super Lig, and we achieved good things there. We faced challenging conditions in both Altay and Genclerbirligi in TFF 1. Lig, and that’s why we were deemed worthy of this difficult role. We have taken on another challenging task. When I came here, we did not have discussions or agreements about whether the transfer ban would be lifted. We came here to do our best with the current squad. After arriving, I saw that the long-standing debt had been significantly reduced. I believe our club has a bright future. We need a little more patience and unity. I believe that good things will come in the end.”

Kaloglu noted that the frequent changes in coaches at Kayserispor would not put pressure on him, stating, “Ideally, I wish coaches would be given a little more patience in our country. There are many examples of this in Europe. Even among the top teams in Europe, coaching changes do not happen despite weeks of poor performances, leading to success in the end.”

“We Have a Group of Characterful Players”

Emphasizing that he is a coach with goals, Kaloglu said, “Given the limited number of players we have and considering certain conditions, outsiders may think we will be relegated, but I do not agree with that. I am a coach with ambitions. We did good work under much tougher conditions in Altay and Gençlerbirliği. I believe we will do well here too because we have a very characterful group of players. We will do our best to finish this league in a good position. All players, whether they play or not, must elevate their performance to the highest level. We need to prepare them to maximize the potential of the players we have. I pay a lot of attention to this. I am striving for those who have had less playing time to take on more responsibility. This will also enhance the competition within the team. All players are valuable to me, whether they are playing or not, and I make sure they feel that.”
