Son of Sevilla Legend Jose Antonio Reyes Joins Real Madrid First-Team Training
The son of Sevilla star Jose Antonio Reyes, Jose Antonio Reyes Lopez, has volunteered to practice with Real Madrid’s first squad. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti invited the 17-year-old, who often plays for Real Madrid Juvenil A under Alvaro Arbeloa, to train with the main team on Wednesday.
Following in his late father’s footsteps, Reyes Lopez has been drawing attention to Real Madrid with his remarkable goal-scoring abilities. The teenage attacker has demonstrated his potential as a rising star by scoring four goals in just seven games with Spain’s U17 national team, in addition to his club accomplishments.
In 2006–07, the elder Reyes, a well-liked character in Spanish football, spent a season on loan at Real Madrid after leaving Arsenal. He tragically died in a traffic accident in 2019 when he was 35 years old. A heartwarming reminder of his legacy in football is his son’s ascent to the top division.
