Manchester United-bound Ruben Amorim’s final match as Sporting manager ended with a dramatic win as his side came from two goals down to win 4-2 at Braga in the Primeira Liga.

Substitute Conrad Harder scored both late goals to give the leaders a victory which sent them six points clear of second-placed Porto.

Harder fired a low driven effort into the bottom corner from 25 yards in the 89th minute before adding a second five minutes later with an almost identical finish.

A first-half double from Ricardo Horta had given the home side a healthy lead. The Portuguese fired into the roof of the net from close range after benefitting from Zeno Debast’s poor clearance.

Horta then slotted home from an angle as the ball hit Franco Israel’s leg and looped into the net.

Amorim’s side significantly improved after the break and got a goal back when Hidemasa Morata scored the rebound after Jerry St Juste had headed a corner on to the post.

Morten Hjulmand scored with a stunning strike from the edge of the box in the 81st minute to level the scoring before Harder sealed a superb victory to ensure Sporting boss Amorim signed off in style.

Sporting have won all 11 of their league games under Amirom this season, scoring 39 goals and conceding just five.

Amorim will fly to England on Monday, but it will take a couple of days before he gets his visa so he can officially start work at United.

The Portuguese has signed a contract to be the Red Devils’ head coach until June 2027.

His first match in charge of United is set be on 24 November, after the international break, in the Premier League against Ipswich.
