Statements from Hakan Calhanoglu about the National Team and Transfers

National player Hakan Calhanoglu, who plays for Italian Serie A team Inter, said that they have achieved the results they wanted with the National Team and that they aim to continue this way and qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals. The star also made statements regarding his future.

Calhanoglu, who was awarded at the second edition of the Mediterranean Excellence Awards in Italy for being an exemplary bridge between different cultures in sports, received his award at a ceremony held at the hotel where his team Inter was camping for their Serie A match against Roma in the capital on Matchday 8.

After receiving the award, Calhanoglu shared his thoughts with AA’s reporter: “This award is very important and valuable to me. Hopefully, I will continue to represent you all in the best way. Being deemed worthy of this award with the goal of setting an example for our children and youth with my personality and character makes me very happy,” he said.

Reminded that he had just returned from the national team, Calhanoglu described the last camp as very enjoyable: “As you have been following, our camps are going really well. We are getting the results we want. We aim to represent our country in the best way. I hope we will also qualify for the World Cup,” he added.

Regarding the championship race in Serie A, Calhanoglu said: “It’s still too early to say anything about the league. We’re still at the beginning. There are many matches ahead of us. Of course, our goal is to win the league championship again. We will put in the effort for that. Hopefully, we will win again.”

When asked about the transfer rumors and whether he will stay at Inter, Hakan Calhanoglu responded: “Yes, I have a contract. I’m continuing.”
