Last week, the platform set a new peak with 37,633,514 players, and this week, that number grew to 37,790,789.
Newly Released Games Driving Popularity
One of the primary reasons for this rapid increase is the release of popular new PC/Deck games on Steam. Titles such as Black Myth: Wukong, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, and the full release of Satisfactory have contributed significantly to the rise in player numbers. Additionally, games like Once Human and the simple yet massively popular Banana continue to attract large audiences. Despite its basic concept of clicking on a banana image, Banana boasts over 375,000 active players and has become the third most-played game on Steam, with the potential to climb even higher in the rankings.
Return of Classic Titles
Meanwhile, older games on Steam are also experiencing renewed interest. PUBG: Battlegrounds and Valve’s own Counter-Strike 2 have maintained steady online player bases.
Upcoming Game Releases
The number of concurrent players is expected to continue rising with the release of highly anticipated games such as Frostbite 2, Frostpunk 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Marvel Rivals, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, and Dune: Awakening, all set to further grow Steam’s player base.
Best gaming platform for real. Honestly they should try communicating with the game devs to get rid of DENUVO but in the end it’s not in Gabe Newell’s hands. Steam is just the best. Epic Games tries really hard with their weekly free games and good sales but overall the interface is just trash. You’d think it’d look much better considering they own Unreal Engine.
Frostbite 2 yeni sürümünü heyecanla bekliyorum. diğer oyunlar da iyi ama favorim kesinlikle o
