Aaron Boupendza, who became the top scorer in the Süper Lig with Hatayspor, has found a new team. The Gabonese striker has embarked on a new adventure by signing with the Romanian club Rapid Bucharest.

Aaron Boupendza, who made a name for himself with his impressive performances for Hatayspor in Turkey, has reached an agreement with Romanian side Rapid Bucharest. Previously, on September 8, the Egyptian club Zamalek had officially announced that they had signed the Gabonese forward.

Boupendza’s Surprising Statement and Transfer Confusion

However, it was reported that Boupendza made a surprising statement saying, “I don’t remember when I signed,” and headed to Romania to sign with Rapid Bucharest. Following this development, it was reported that Zamalek plans to file a complaint with UEFA against Boupendza.

Statement from Sumudica!

Following the transfer, Rapid Bucharest’s head coach, Marius Sumudica, stated: “Aaron Boupendza did not sign a contract with Zamalek. I received many messages asking how we managed to sign a player like him. We have reached an agreement, and the official paperwork is being prepared. After his visa procedures, he will come to Bucharest. If it weren’t for me, he wouldn’t have come to Rapid, but the financial effort of the club was also significant. Bringing such a player here is not easy.”

Last season, Aaron Boupendza played 17 matches for MLS side FC Cincinnati, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.
