TFF: Clubs Not Implementing Agreed Decisions

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) responded to recent statements made by clubs with an official post on their website: “Although we make joint decisions in meetings with club presidents, we regret to observe that these decisions are not being implemented and that the principles set forth are not being adhered to.”

HERE IS THE STATEMENT

“Since our election, we have maintained communication with all members of the football community, working diligently to foster an environment of justice and camaraderie in football.

As the TFF Board of Directors, we have approached football’s issues with good intentions, only to encounter, at times, non-cooperative and unsupportive attitudes in return. Sadly, we have repeatedly emphasized that focusing on superficial disputes cannot elevate football’s brand value to its deserved place while ignoring core issues. Although we make joint decisions in meetings with club presidents, we regret to observe that these decisions are not being implemented and that the principles set forth are not being adhered to. These clubs, which are the driving force of Turkish football, harm the spirit of camaraderie in football by deflecting responsibility to other parties for the comfort of their fans and communities.

We must stress that attempts to achieve certain gains or influence through public statements have proven ineffective numerous times. Let it be known that this era is over. A new, clean slate has been opened. The current TFF administration is composed of individuals who have come from within football, are familiar with its core issues, and have actively fought these issues for years. As an administration elected with the support of the football community, we underline our strong and determined will to resolve these fundamental issues.

At a time when hope and belief in resolving accumulated issues have grown so strongly within the public and the entire sports community, these petty discussions and conflicts in the public eye damage the camaraderie we are striving to establish.

No benefit comes from pitting communities against one another or belittling and criticizing others through statements and posts on various platforms.

It must be remembered that people come and go, but clubs and the football family are permanent. As clubs compete with each other, it is essential for them to act with respect for these enduring values and conduct themselves with dignity.

When we began, we promised to be a fair, transparent, and impartial administration in Turkish football, working sincerely to achieve this goal with all our strength. We are determined to stay on this path. However, we believe that we must walk it not alone but hand in hand with all stakeholders in the football family, fully aware of our responsibilities and obligations.”
