The LCK Summer Playoffs delivered a thrilling and unexpected result as Hanwha Life Esports (HLE)
defeated T1 3-1, preventing T1 from directly qualifying for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship. With this victory, HLE secured a spot in the LCK Finals against Gen.G, while T1 now faces a tougher road to Worlds through the regional qualifiers.
This win marked the first time HLE’s mid-laner Zeka has reached the LCK Finals. He joins an elite group of mid-laners, alongside names like Faker and Chovy, to play in such a high-stakes match. Despite T1’s brief comeback, highlighted by Faker’s impressive quadra kill on Tristana, HLE dominated the final two games of the series.
T1 now needs to fight through the LCK regional finals for a chance to defend their title at Worlds. Their journey starts with a match against Dplus KIA.
