There is a Mert Gunok shock at Besiktas! His treatment has begun.

It was announced that Besiktas’s national goalkeeper Mert Gunok has been injured. Due to his injury, it is expected that Mert Gunok will not play in the matches against Olympique Lyon and Galatasaray.

Besiktas stated that Mert Gunok, who was injured in the left shoulder during the Konyaspor match, has a tendon injury in the upper muscle group of his left shoulder, and treatment has begun.

The statement from Besiktas reads:
“Following the trauma our player Mert Gunok experienced in his left shoulder during a position in our Football A-Team’s match against Tumosan Konyaspor, an MRI at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital revealed a tendon injury in the upper muscle group (supraspinatus) of his left shoulder. Our medical team has started his treatment.”

According to TRT Spor’s report, Mert Gunok is not expected to play in the matches against Olympique Lyon and Galatasaray due to his injury.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper has played in 12 matches for Besiktas this season, keeping a clean sheet in 5 of them. Mert Gunok had already missed the UEFA Europa League match against Eintracht Frankfurt due to a shoulder injury and had also been withdrawn from the Turkey national football team’s camp for the same reason.
