Thierry Henry: “PSG is more stable without Kylian Mbappe.”
Henry believes PSG has become a more balanced team in Mbappe’s absence.
What Happened? During the match where PSG drew 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, manager Luis Enrique noted the need for a top-class finisher like Mbappe. PSG had a total of 26 shots, including 18 in the second half, but failed to secure a winning goal after coming back from 1-0 down.
What Was Said? In his comments on CBS Sports Golazo, former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry argued that PSG has found stability without Mbappe: “I think they’ve become a team. They’ve gained a bit more stability. They’re making fewer attacks, but they’ve lost Mbappe. For example, in a match like this, Kylian could have brought you a 2-1 victory, but everything looks more solid in terms of the team’s balance. The result isn’t good enough, but the team is balanced.”
Did You Know? Paris Saint-Germain began their Champions League campaign this season with a 1-0 victory over Girona. They then lost 2-1 to Arsenal and drew 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven in their third match.
What’s Next? Luis Enrique’s squad will face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League next week, followed by an away match against Bayern Munich. In Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain will visit Marseille on October 27.
