Things Take a Turn for Bayer Leverkusen: Late Goals Prove Costly

Bayer Leverkusen, known for clinching tight victories with last-minute goals last season, now finds itself on the opposite end of late-game drama. In the Bundesliga’s 10th round, Leverkusen visited Bochum and looked set for a win after Patrick Schick’s early goal in the 18th minute. However, Bochum struck back with a last-minute equalizer in the 89th minute, courtesy of Miyoshi. Leverkusen players protested, claiming a foul in the buildup, but VAR confirmed the goal, leaving Leverkusen disappointed.

This is the third time in ten matches that Leverkusen has dropped points due to late goals, putting them 9 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich with 17 points. Meanwhile, Bochum, struggling at the bottom of the table, now has just 2 points.

Musiala’s Magic Secures Bayern Munich’s Victory

In another Bundesliga matchup, Bayern Munich strengthened its lead at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over St. Pauli, thanks to a stunning goal from Jamal Musiala. Bayern’s impressive record now stands at 8 wins and 2 draws from 10 matches, amassing 27 points. The Bavarian giants have scored a league-high 33 goals and conceded just 7, making them the second-strongest defense in the Bundesliga.

With these results, Bayern Munich solidifies its position as the team to beat, while Leverkusen looks to break their late-game curse in pursuit of a higher league standing.
