Thomas Tuchel Set to Be Named New England Manager

With the FA apparently striking an agreement to expose the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich head later this week, Thomas Tuchel is almost appointed as the new England manager.

Swiftly turning events, Tuchel is set to succeed Gareth Southgate as manager of the England national team, assuming leadership before the World Cup 2026. Considered as the man to finally guide the Three Lions to triumph in a big competition, the former Champions League-winning coach has a great reputation for excellence in tournament football.

Potential Move by Tuchel to Manchester United

Should Erik ten Hag be terminated in the next weeks, Tuchel has also been seen as a front-runner for the Manchester United post. The Football Association, preferring the seasoned German manager to lead the national squad, pushed fast to acquire Tuchel’s services despite conjecture.

With Tuchel appointed, the FA’s conventional inclination toward English-born managers is clearly changing. Although Pep Guardiola still under contract with Manchester City, reports show that the FA also investigated employing him but could not guarantee his availability before the end of the 2024-25 campaign. Conversely, Tuchel offers a lot of knowledge from the Premier League and international competitions.
