Abdullah Öztürk Makes History as Turkey’s Most Decorated Paralympian with Fourth Medal

National para table tennis player Abdullah Öztürk has made history by becoming the first and only Turkish athlete to win four medals at the Paralympic Games. Öztürk secured a bronze medal in the doubles category (MD 8 class) alongside Nesim Turan at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, bringing his total medal count to two golds and two bronzes.

Abdullah previously won gold medals in the individual class 4 at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He also earned a bronze in the class 4-5 team event at Rio 2016.

With this latest achievement, Abdullah has surpassed other Turkish para athletes, including Kübra Korkut, Neslihan Kavas, and para shooter Muharrem Korhan Yamaç, all of whom currently hold three medals each and are competing in Paris 2024.

Nesim Turan, Abdullah’s doubles partner, has also increased his Paralympic medal tally to three with this bronze.
