Alcaraz and Sinner Share Private Jet to Shanghai After Epic Battle

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner boarded the same private jet to Shanghai for the upcoming Masters 1000 tournament following their exhausting ATP 500 final in Beijing. The two men’s tennis players were flying together with their teams between tournaments and sharing the sky, only hours after their exciting three-set match. They also shared a great deal of mutual respect.

Their third encounter in 2024 took place in Beijing, and it did not dissapoint. Alcaraz defeated Sinner 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6(3) in a tough three-and-a-half-hour encounter that pitted them against one another. After trailing 3-0 in the decisive tiebreak, Alcaraz elevated his game to a level that Sinner was unable to equal, winning the match and moving up to the No. 2 spot in the world rankings.

Good-natured Rivalry in the Sky

Sinner’s coach, Simone Vagnozzi, posted a video of the two Grand Slam winners boarding their charter jet to Shanghai on Instagram, showcasing the sportsmanship and friendship that can exist even amongst bitter rivals. It’s not often that you witness two of the sport’s top young players flying together after spending hours sparring on the court.

Focus is on the 1000 Shanghai Masters

Alcaraz is ranked No. 1 and Sinner is seeded No. 3, therefore their lone meeting in Shanghai will be in the semifinals, unlike their matchup in Beijing. They may go on the same aircraft, but their paths on the court will diverge as their rivalry continues to intensify. Both players are at the peak of their game.

On and off the court, Alcaraz and Sinner have an obvious respect for one another, which heightens the interest level during their matches. The tennis world is excitedly awaiting the prospect of another match between two rising talents, with the Shanghai Masters 1000 being their next target.
