Vassilis Charalampopoulos suffered a serious injury during Türk Telekom’s EuroCup game against Aris last night, in which Türk Telekom won 68-63 away.
The Greek player could not continue the match after sustaining the injury, and subsequent medical tests revealed a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). Türk Telekom announced that Charalampopoulos will undergo surgery in the coming days.
The recovery process is expected to keep him off the court for approximately 7-8 months.
Türk Telekom released a statement saying:
“Our player Vassilis Charalampopoulos sustained an injury in last night’s EuroCup match, and medical examinations revealed a torn ACL. The player will undergo surgery in the upcoming days, and his return to the court is expected in 7-8 months.
We wish Vassilis a speedy recovery and believe he will come back even stronger.”
