Children are on the field for their first victory!

The Turkish National Football Team will face Iceland in their second match of the UEFA Nations League B League, Group 4, on September 9, Monday, in Izmir.

The match will be played at Gürsel Aksel Stadium and will kick off at 21:45.

The match will be officiated by Enea Jorgji from the Albanian Football Federation. Jorgji’s assistants will be Denis Rexha and Ridiger Çokaj, also from Albania. The fourth official will be Eldorjan Hamiti.

In their first group match, Turkey drew 0-0 away against Wales. Iceland won 2-0 at home against Montenegro. After the first matches, Iceland is leading the group with 3 points, while the Turkish team has 1 point.

On the same day in Group 4, Montenegro will play against Wales in Montenegro at 21:45 local time.

For the Turkish National Team, captain Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who returned from injury and played in the second half against Wales, is expected to start against Iceland.

  • Barış Alper suspended, Merih’s suspension ended

In the national team, Barış Alper Yılmaz, who received a red card in the Wales match, will not be available for this match.

Merih Demiral, who received a 2-match suspension for the bozkurt gesture made in the Austria match in the Round of 16 at UEFA Euro 2024, will be available for this match. Merih had been absent from the team for the matches against the Netherlands in Euro 2024 and Wales in the UEFA Nations League due to his suspension.
