Los Angeles Clippers have now acquired their new arena. The team hosted the Mavericks in a preseason game at the Intuit Arena, which cost 2 billion dollars. The Los Angeles team had been playing its games in the same arena as the Lakers for years. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer signed off on an expensive project in 2021 to bring his team to its own home. The Intuit Arena has been completed, totaling a cost of 2 billion dollars, and has opened its doors to NBA games.
The Clippers greeted their new home with a preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks, winning 110-96. Fans enter the Intuit Arena, which only sells season tickets, using a facial recognition system. The 18,000-seat arena has no carbon footprint, and surrounding it are sports facilities and social amenities.
The Intuit Arena will also host the 2026 NBA All-Star event.
