  • Talent from across sport, music and film set to be celebrated

England stars Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo will swap the field for the stage this month when they co-host GQ’s Men of the Year event.

The Chelsea starboy and Manchester United talent will join forces at the star-studded London event that celebrates some of the finest actors, athletes and musicians shaping the cultural landscape. Alongside Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and rapper Central Cee, Palmer and Mainoo will co-host the evening and wow on the red carpet.

An event that honours those who break the rules and change the game is fitting for both Palmer and Mainoo – who have each taken their own journey in the wider world outside of football.

The Blues goalscorer had been unafraid to embrace his passion for fashion, starring in Burberry’s outerwear campaign that was unveiled in October. Palmer also earned a spot on 90min’s most influential footballer’s list after helping to bridge the gap between sport and culture.

Whereas, the Red Devils star put pen to paper on a deal with Nike earlier this year before featuring in Dazed’s summer 2024 issue, styling a full-range of products from the sportswear giants.

They will each grab a microphone and lead proceedings at this year’s GQ event on 19 November – with an exclusive interview with each player set to drop ahead of the evening.

The honourees on the night include stars from across the world of sport, music and film – with Team GB’s Adam Peaty, actor Kit Harrington and comedian Richard Gadd among those set to be celebrated.
