Dave Allen, a British heavyweight boxer, thinks Martin Bakole might be the fighter who could end Oleksandr Usyk’s undefeated streak. Usyk, who defeated Tyson Fury via split decision in May to become the first undisputed champion of the four-belt era, is now looking towards a rematch with Fury in December.
Meanwhile, Bakole recently showcased an impressive performance by knocking out Jared Anderson in his U.S. debut, positioning himself as a potential future contender against Usyk. Bakole even mentioned Usyk as one of the names he’d like to face next, but for now, Usyk is fully focused on his upcoming rematch with Fury.
Allen, who has sparred with both Bakole and Usyk, believes Bakole has the tools to challenge and defeat the Ukrainian champion. Reflecting on his sparring experience with Bakole, Allen said to Boxing Social, “He’s just too big, too strong, and he puts punches together so well for a guy of his size. Usyk won’t beat him, I have no doubt. He could be the man to stop Usyk.”
Allen also added that Bakole is a serious threat in the division, with only fighters like Zhilei Zhang posing potential problems for him, while other top contenders like Anthony Joshua and Fury would find it difficult to compete against Bakole.
