Erling Haaland is close to breaking the record for the fastest player to score 100 goals for a single club. The Norwegian striker netted two goals against Brentford last weekend, bringing his total to 99 goals for Manchester City in just 103 matches.
If Haaland scores in Manchester City’s upcoming Champions League match against Inter on Wednesday, he will reach 100 goals in just 104 games, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved the feat in 105 matches while playing for Real Madrid.
Haaland’s Record-Breaking Pace
Should Haaland fail to score in that match, he will still have a chance to equal Ronaldo’s record by scoring in his 105th game, set to take place on September 22 against Arsenal.
In addition to this potential milestone, Erling Haaland has already broken a Premier League record this season. By scoring nine goals in the first four matches, he surpassed Wayne Rooney’s record of eight goals in the opening four weeks of the 2011-12 season with Manchester United.
