Former Fenerbahçe and Roma Star Diego Perotti Retires at 36
Diego Perotti, the former Fenerbahçe winger, has officially announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
Perotti, who transferred from Roma to Fenerbahçe in the 2020-2021 season on a free transfer, shared the news of his retirement via an emotional post on Instagram. “What a beautiful journey. How quickly it passed… I will miss you,” Perotti wrote as he bid farewell to his footballing career.
The Argentine started his professional career with CD Moron in Argentina before moving on to notable clubs like Sevilla, Boca Juniors, Genoa, and Roma. In 2020, he made the switch to Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahçe.
However, his time at Fenerbahçe was marred by injuries, limiting him to just four appearances for the club. Despite the limited playing time, he managed to score three goals in those matches. Perotti has now decided to hang up his boots after a career spanning more than 15 years.
