Galatasaray Overcomes Italian Side Lecce in Fourth Friendly Match

First Half Goals from Ziyech and Zaha

As part of their pre-season preparations, Galatasaray faced Italian side Lecce in their fourth friendly match. The match, played at Raiffeisen Arena in Austria, ended with the Yellow-Reds winning 2-1, thanks to first-half goals.

In the 9th minute, Ziyech capitalized on his press, intercepting the ball from an opponent and finding the back of the net after a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Galatasaray continued to dominate the match, and in the 40th minute, Zaha dribbled into the penalty area and scored to double the lead.

Strong Second Half, No Change in Score

Despite maintaining their strong performance in the second half, Galatasaray could not add to their tally. Lecce scored their only goal in the 85th minute through Gaspar.

Summer Series Upper Austria Tournament and Galatasaray’s Performance

Participating in the Summer Series Upper Austria tournament hosted by Austrian side LASK, Galatasaray had played three friendlies in the first stage of their camp. In their first friendly, they lost 3-2 to LASK. In their second match, they were defeated 5-2 by German 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf. The Yellow-Reds won their last match against Slovakian team Trencin 4-1.

Galatasaray’s Next Match: Parma

Galatasaray will face Italian Serie A team Parma in their next friendly match on July 27.
