Guardiola Responds to England National Team Rumors: Focused on the Season

Gareth Southgate stepped down as the England National Team manager after Euro 2024, with Lee Carsley taking over as interim coach. However, rumors have surfaced that Pep Guardiola might take over the England job after Carsley.

Pep Guardiola, whose current contract with Manchester City runs until 2025, addressed these rumors by stating that he is fully focused on the season ahead. Guardiola said, “I need to think about my future at Manchester City—whether I want to continue here or take a break. I’ll consider if I want to manage a national team, but right now, I’m excited about the new season and the challenges it brings.”

Although Guardiola expressed interest in managing a national team back in February, his focus remains on Manchester City and the upcoming season.

Manchester City will face Manchester United in the Community Shield on August 10th.
