Hamilton has lost interest in his ‘$16.5 million car collection’

Lewis Hamilton says he has lost interest in adding new cars to his collection because there is “something missing” in today’s cars.
Statistically, Hamilton is the most successful driver in F1 history with 105 race wins, 104 pole positions and 7 world championships.

In addition to all he’s accomplished on the track, Hamilton’s off-track car collection is also impressive.

Hamilton’s supercar and hypercar collection is known to be worth approximately $16.5 million (approximately 570 billion TL) and this collection includes cars such as the Mercedes Project One, Ferrari LaFerrari, 599 SA Aperta and LaFerrari Aperta, 1966 Shelby Cobra 427.

However, Hamilton has not added to his collection since purchasing the Mercedes Project One, saying modern cars all look the same and lack emotion.

“The last car I bought was a Project One,” Hamilton said.

“Of course, I research cars all the time at home. But to be honest, most cars today look the same, there’s definitely something missing.”

“The cars I would look at are more like the old classics. If I were to go and buy another car, it would probably be an old classic in terms of the sound and the feel.”

“There aren’t many brands today that reflect that sentiment,” he said.

Hamilton has put aside his interest in adding new cars to his collection for now and has found another passion to invest in.

“I’m more interested in art these days.”

“So discovering new artists and especially black artists from Africa is one of the things that I get immersed in. That’s why I usually end up buying their art.”
