It’s official: Monaco GP will be on the Formula 1 calendar until 2031!
Formula 1 has announced that it will continue to race on the streets of Monaco until 2031.
There have been doubts about the track’s F1 future for some time due to the difficulty of racing on Monaco’s narrow streets with the current cars.
However, F1 and Monaco have announced a deal that will see the circuit remain on the calendar for another six years.
Under its new deal, Monaco will move the date from the traditional end of May to the first weekend of June from 2026. This means the Monaco GP will no longer clash with the Indianapolis 500.
Commenting on the new agreement, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “I am delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race in Monaco until 2031.”
“The streets of Monte Carlo are truly unique and an important part of Formula 1.”
“The Monaco Grand Prix continues to be a race that all drivers dream of winning.”
“I would like to thank Prince Albert II of Monaco, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco Michel Boeri and all those who contributed to the extension of this important partnership.”
