Jasiel Rivero sidelined for at least two weeks with muscle tear

The Cuban big man was injured near the end of the EuroLeague Round 8 game against Virtus in Bologna and underwent an MRI exam. He has a small tear in his posterior femur muscle and will be examined again this weekend, the Israeli club announced. He is expected to be out for a period ranging from two to three weeks.
Rivero, 31, is having a solid campaign, as manifest in his averages of 11.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 16.3 in PIR over eight games in the top competition.
After the game in Herzliya, Maccabi are looking forward to another EuroLeague week in Athens, as they take on Panathinaikos on Tuesday, and Belgrade, where they will host Olympiacos on Thursday.
After that, the squad will return to Israel to face Maccabi Ramat Gan in the final of the Winner Cup in Holon. Maccabi have a record of three wins and five losses after the completion of EuroLeague Round 8.
