Jon Rahm Secures $22 Million and LIV Golf Season Title in First-Year Triumph

Jon Rahm capped off a stellar debut season on the LIV Golf tour by winning the Chicago event with a 4-under 66, claiming a $4 million prize. The victory also secured the year-end individual title, bringing Rahm an additional $18 million bonus, making his total LIV earnings for the season an astounding $34 million.

Rahm’s first season on the Saudi Arabia-backed tour has been nothing short of lucrative. He joined LIV Golf in December in a major move while the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf were negotiating a merger of their commercial operations. Ranked third in the world and fresh off his Masters win, Rahm’s signing bonus was a jaw-dropping $300 million—double what any other LIV golfer received. Half of the bonus was paid upfront.

With his signing bonus included, Rahm’s total earnings for 2023 skyrocketed to $203 million, placing him second among all athletes in terms of earnings, just behind Cristiano Ronaldo at $275 million.

The LIV Golf season will wrap up in Dallas this week with the team championship, as Rahm continues to ride high on his record-breaking success.
