Luis de la Fuente, Spain’s manager, has expressed discontent with his present contract status following the country’s Euro 2024 success. Despite leading Spain to Nations League and Euro 2024 victory, de la Fuente has yet to obtain a new contract, which he views as “not normal.”
The Spanish leader, who succeeded Luis Enrique, has expressed concern over his remuneration, which is apparently lower than that of several of his predecessors. De la Fuente is frustrated because, after achieving significant international success, he has yet to be offered improved terms or a contract renewal.
What De la Fuente Said
Speaking to Cadena SER, de la Fuente did not hold back in expressing his disappointment:
“It is not normal for a European champion to be without a contract. I don’t know if the same thing would have happened with Luis Enrique… for me, it is not normal for a European champion to be out of contract. I have had offers as usual. What is not normal is that the reigning European champions, I don’t know if it has ever happened in history, are without a contract. I have the same conditions as when I was promoted from the U21s… It would have been fair if he had signed the contract already.”
