Mario Hezonja, who recently signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, shared insights about his eventful summer transfer period in an interview with Mozzart Sport.
The Croatian national team and Real Madrid star was one of the most sought-after wings in European basketball during the offseason. Hezonja attracted attention from several top clubs in the EuroLeague.
However, the Croatian star chose to extend his contract with Real Madrid until 2029, opting to remain with the Spanish giants. In his remarks, Hezonja revealed that one of the clubs showing interest in him was Partizan.
Hezonja stated, “There were a few teams interested in me during the transfer period. I am grateful to all the clubs that wanted me in their squads. It showed that they respected me as a player. You have to stay open-minded when receiving offers. Partizan was one of the teams that wanted me.”
Last season, Hezonja appeared in 30 EuroLeague games for Real Madrid, averaging 10.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
