Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has announced the departure of Jack Wilshere, who has been coaching the club’s U18 team after his long playing career with the Gunners. Wilshere is set to join the coaching staff at Norwich City.
In a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League fixture against Bournemouth, Arteta praised Wilshere, stating, “Jack Wilshere did an incredible job. Everyone knows his career and character. He’s a special person. His commitment to this football club is unmatched. He has an aura, charisma, and a unique ability to connect with people. He came here and made a real impact.”
The 32-year-old Wilshere, who began his playing career at Arsenal, is reportedly in advanced talks to join the coaching team of Norwich City under Danish manager Johannes Thorup.
Wilshere’s playing career included stints at Bolton, Bournemouth, and West Ham, and he retired in 2022 after a short spell with Danish club Aarhus at the age of 30.
