Oded Kattash confirms a new Maccabi signing
David DeJulius is set to join Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.David DeJulius should now be considered a Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv player, as the Israeli team head coach, Oded Kattash, confirmed in his recent statements.
“Once his transfer is officially completed, we will have another guard. Even with Tamir Blatt back, we’d still need a guard. EuroLeague teams can rest their players in local leagues, but we don’t have that luxury. I like DeJulius’ age and the position he plays,” Kattash said. “Beyond that, we’ll see what happens. He’s a player with potential who has not yet played at the EuroLeague level, so he will need time.”
In six EuroCup games this season, DeJulius has averaged 14.3 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 14.2 PIR for Aris Midea Thessaloniki. His stats are even better in the Greek League: 20.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, resulting in 21.6 PIR.
According to Eurohoops, the American point guard will meet with Maccabi in Tel Aviv and is expected to be available for the team’s next EuroLeague game against Virtus Segafredo Bologna on Friday.
