Peter Luccin Poised to Take on FC Dallas Managerial Role Full-Time

Peter Luccin, who has served as FC Dallas’ interim manager since June, is now the frontrunner to be named the club’s full-time head coach. The Frenchman, who has been part of the coaching staff as an assistant since 2019, has impressed during his short time in charge, turning around the team’s performance and guiding them back into playoff contention.

Following a difficult start to the season, FC Dallas was struggling with a 3-8-5 record under then-manager Nico Estévez, who was dismissed from his duties on June 9. Luccin stepped in as interim head coach and has since revitalized the team’s fortunes. The turnaround has been significant, with Dallas now firmly back in the playoff race in the Western Conference as the season reaches its final month.

Improved Attacking Performance

One of the standout changes under Luccin’s leadership has been the team’s offensive output. Before Luccin took charge, Dallas was averaging a mere 1.2 goals per game. Since his interim appointment, the side has seen a notable increase, scoring at a rate of 2.2 goals per game over his 14 matches in charge, highlighting a far more effective and aggressive attacking strategy.

Awaiting a Permanent Decision

Despite Luccin’s positive impact, no formal agreement has been reached between the two parties. However, with the improved results and the significant boost in offensive performance, Luccin is well-positioned to secure the full-time managerial role at FC Dallas.
