RALF SCHUMACHER BELIEVES PEREZ WILL BE DISMISSED FROM RED BULL BEFORE THE SEASON ENDS

Ralf Schumacher thinks that Red Bull will decide to dismiss Sergio Perez from the team following the Mexican GP.

Describing the 2024 season as a “terrible season,” Perez had a disappointing weekend at his home race in Mexico. The Mexican driver, who experienced issues with his RB20’s brakes and speed, finished the race in 17th place after starting from 18th.

Given that Ferrari has overtaken Red Bull in the constructors’ championship after this weekend, Schumacher believes this should be the “end of the road” for Perez. He even speculates that he may not be in the car for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Ralf Schumacher stated, “I don’t think he will drive a single meter in the car next year; I’m quite sure about that. I don’t even think he will finish the season.”

“Red Bull will make a decision after this weekend. This no longer makes sense for either side, even for Perez.”

“The poor guy is under too much pressure, while this sport should be fun.”

“Above all, it has become a disaster financially for this team,” he said.

However, contrary to Schumacher’s views, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reiterated his support for Perez in a statement to the media in Mexico.

“Checo is our driver and has a contract until 2025.”

“He is a very competitive person and is not satisfied with where he is right now. As a team, we are doing everything we can to support him.”
