Real Madrid legend Fernando Morientes believes that young talent Endrick could step up during Kylian Mbappe’s absence due to injury.
Former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes has expressed confidence in young Brazilian talent Endrick stepping up during Kylian Mbappe’s injury absence. Mbappe, who suffered an injury during Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Alaves, is expected to be sidelined for three weeks. Initially, Mbappe’s substitution was thought to be precautionary, but his injury turned out to be more serious, leaving Real Madrid uncertain about who will fill his spot in the attack.
Morientes highlighted Endrick as the best option to replace Mbappe and praised the youngster’s talent.
No Preference for Arda
Speaking to AS, Morientes said, “I really admire Endrick’s personality. Coming to Madrid at such a young age is not easy. You need to be here to truly understand the stature of this club.”
While Mbappe’s injury is expected to deeply impact Real Madrid, Morientes expressed optimism that the French star will return to the team soon, stating, “Injuries never come at a good time, but I expect Kylian to be back shortly.”
Reports in the Spanish press suggest that Carlo Ancelotti could hand the starting spot to either Endrick or Arda Güler during Mbappe’s absence. However, Morientes’ preference for Endrick over Arda has certainly drawn attention.
