Saras Jasikevicius: “It Was Impossible to Stop Nigel Hayes-Davis”
Fenerbahce Beko head coach Saras Jasikevicius shared his thoughts after his team’s victory over Bayern Munich in Round 9 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The win marked Fenerbahce’s seventh league victory this season.
Coach Jasikevicius’ post-game comments were as follows:
“Defeating Bayern Munich, one of the best-performing teams in the EuroLeague so far, was really important. In some areas, we outperformed them and secured the win. Hopefully, we’ll keep improving step by step. There were positive aspects on both ends of the court. Nigel’s resilience was incredible. He didn’t lose his calm or confidence. For the second game in a row, he made the right plays for the team despite running into foul trouble. He faced similar issues in France and again here, but he kept his composure and got into rhythm in the second half. Stopping him was impossible.
The game against Zalgiris Kaunas will be very tough. Both teams play great defense, so it’s likely to be a slow and challenging game. But for now, it’s time to celebrate. We’ll have time to prepare for my dear Zalgiris (laughs).”
