Logan Sargeant is set to return to racing in the 2025 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), marking his first significant endurance racing experience since his stint in Formula 1. The 23-year-old will join the Genesis team as part of their LMP2 programme, preparing for the Genesis Magma Racing hypercar program, which is set to enter the World Endurance Championship, including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2026.
Sargeant’s involvement in the European Le Mans Series will be a significant step in his career following his departure from Williams F1 in the middle of the 2024 season. After a challenging 18 months with the team, Sargeant was replaced by Franco Colapinto ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. His return to racing with Genesis will provide him with a fresh opportunity in endurance motorsport.
Sargeant will be joined by talented drivers Jamie Chadwick, a three-time W Series champion, and rising French star Mathys Jaubert. The team will partner with the experienced IDEC Sport team to assist in the operational preparation for the programme.
This new chapter in the European Le Mans Series will be a vital opportunity for Sargeant as he continues to seek his place in motorsport, especially after recent talks for an IndyCar seat fell through. With Genesis’ ambitious plans for the future, the European Le Mans Series will be a key part of their road to the World Endurance Championship.
