Statement from Senegal on Jakobs: Criticism of Galatasaray’s ‘Injury’
Following the match where Galatasaray defeated Alanyaspor 1-0 in the 8th week of the Süper Lig, the Senegal National Team has issued a statement regarding the health status of Ismail Jakobs, who played in the match.
The Senegal Football Federation announced that Ismail Jakobs, who started the match against Alanyaspor in the starting XI, was not sent to the national team due to injury. However, they stated that since the player participated in the match, Jakobs should have immediately joined the Senegal National Team.

In the statement from the Senegal Football Federation, it was noted: “We received a notification from Galatasaray’s club doctor on Friday and Saturday that player Ismail Jakobs was injured and would not be called up to the Senegal National Team. However, the federation realized that Ismail Jakobs was fielded by his club Galatasaray in the league match this Sunday and participated in the entire match. Faced with this situation, the Senegal Football Federation requested his immediate release to be called up to the national team. Jakobs left Istanbul yesterday, which is why he returned to the national team on Monday morning.”
