Toprak Razgatlıoğlu’s Lead Narrows After Missing French World Superbike Championship Leg

Injury favours Toprak Razgatlioglu’s rival

The difference between Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who missed the French leg of the World Superbike Championship due to injury, and his closest rival Nicolo Bulega decreased from 92 to 55 points.

Michael van der Mark of the Rokit BMW team won the first race in the 8th leg of the championship held at the 4.4-kilometre Magny-Cours Circuit near Paris. Nicolo Bulega of the Aruba Ducati team triumphed in both the Superpole race and the second race.

Razgatlioglu withdrew from the race after an accident during training. His team-mate Van der Mark won the first race. Bulega, who crashed in the first race, recovered by winning Superpole and the second race and closed the gap to his rival.

Bulega now has 310 points and has reduced the gap to 55 points as he continues to chase Razgatlioglu in the riders’ standings.

The 9th round of the World Superbike Championship will take place in Italy on 21-22 September.
