VERSTAPPEN: “IF I COULD HAVE COMPLETED THE LAP, I COULD HAVE TAKEN POLE”

Max Verstappen expressed satisfaction about starting the race from second place. The Q3 session of the America Grand Prix qualifying was filled with drama.

Failing to achieve the desired time in the initial laps, Verstappen was unable to continue his final lap, which had begun with a purple sector, due to George Russell’s crash, and finished qualifying in second place.

Despite everything, Verstappen was pleased with the outcome, stating: “I lost quite a bit of time on my first lap. It’s an unfortunate situation, but I knew we had one more chance for a lap.”

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t complete my lap. Otherwise, we had good pace. But that’s how it is. At least we’re on the front row, which is very important.”

“Our car looks competitive. We made small adjustments, and it felt good. I hope it’s positive for tomorrow as well.”
