Tyrique Jones was one of the new players who joined Partizan’s roster during the summer. Recently, he showcased his talents with his new team in the Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament, where he performed quite well.
Opening a new chapter in his career, Tyrique Jones shared his thoughts on being compared to Mathias Lessort and his new coach, Zeljko Obradovic, in an interview with Mozzart Sport.
First, commenting on the comparisons with Lessort, Jones said, “I can’t promise that I can do exactly what he does or perform like him. No one in the world can be like Mathias Lessort. But no one can be like Tyrique Jones either. On the court, I just want to be myself. My teammates, who I share the locker room with, value the effort I put in for them.”
He also talked about starting to work with Zeljko Obradovic, stating, “When you work with him, you should never be satisfied with your achievements; you should always think about the future and how to improve. He is a wonderful person and teacher, and learning from him is amazing. He always answers the questions that come to mind and tests you every moment you step on the court. As long as we follow his plan, we won’t face any problems. Of course, there are areas where we can still develop, but the important thing is to prepare correctly. This will further increase our chances of winning.”
