In Group 1, Turkey is currently in 4th place with three victories from five matches. In the championship, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Turkey has defeated Poland, Latvia, and Finland, but lost to Ukraine. They also faced a recent 3-0 defeat against the unbeaten leader France (17-25, 21-25, 26-28).
